His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid represented, Friday 19 MAY 2023 in Jeddah, His Majesty King Mohammed VI at the 32nd session of the Council of the League of Arab States at the Summit Level hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
HRH Prince Moulay Rachid was also greeted by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Mr. Nasser Bourita, by the Ambassador of His Majesty the King in Riyadh, Mr. Mustapha El Mansouri, as well as by members of the Moroccan Embassy in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The summit discussed efforts to maintain security and stability in the region and promote Arab interests in light of the successive changes and escalating crises at the international and regional levels.
This summit comes amid extraordinary circumstances facing the region and the world, including regional and international crises and conflicts, which oblige the Arab countries to find mechanisms to face common challenges and strengthen regional security and stability.
The Palestinian cause was at the top of the summit's agenda. The Arab leaders reaffirmed the centrality of the Palestinian cause to the Arab nation and the need to reach a comprehensive and just solution based on the two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Al-Quds as its capital, taking into account that the resolution of this issue is an important starting point for the resolution of other peace and security issues.
In addition, the Summit discussed a number of crises in the Arab region, including the situation in Yemen, Libya, Somalia and Sudan, foreign interference in the internal affairs of Arab countries and terrorism issues.
The agenda of the summit included economic issues, including the Arab strategy for tourism and the "Arab Digital Agenda 2023-2033", as well as the technical support needed by the member states of the Greater Arab Free Trade Area that are not members of the World Trade Organization to complete the executive program of the region, and the Arab strategy for communication and information (Arab Digital Agenda).
On the social front, the summit addressed ways to achieve multidimensional social development, including the Arab Decade for Persons with Disabilities (2023-2033) and the Doha Declaration "Moving Beyond 2030: Towards Multidimensional Social Development", as well as the focus on institutions for the elderly.
